but she is now hoping that NERALLT can begin to consider some modest outreach activities. This is yet another "target of opportunity" for us as an organization. More members means more than just a larger treasury. It also means more of us to share creative ideas and lend support (technical AND emotional) to each other!

NERALLT'S new website
Pursuant to our new organizational shuffling, we are also looking toward finding a more permanent home
for our website. In light of this fall meeting's focus on Web 2.0 technologies, we think it might be a good idea to locate our website on a server that might provide options for incorporating these interactive technologies to provide more opportunities for expression and interaction among our members. We would like to bring this issue up for discussion at our meeting in Vermont. If any of you have experience with a reliable, affordable service provider that of–fers these options, please bring them to our attention.

Your Newsletter
A funny thing happened on the way to the NERALLT business meeting at Tufts this June. I became your new newsletter editor. Although unexpected–Mary is a recruiter nonpareil–am grateful for this opportunity to reconnect with NERALLT and look forward to my tenure. As Dick and I talked about what items might be of interest to you, our discussion turned towards a movement across some campuses to subsume language lab directors within the core university IT structure. To that end, we propose a series of interviews with members who report directly to department chairs as well as those who answer to other administrators. We hope this series will provide insight on our role within and across our institutions.

If you are interested in sharing your ex–periences for our next newsletter, we'd love to hear from you. You can contact me at: barbara.lindsey@uconn.edu

In light of this fall's conference theme, in which collaboration and resource sharing is one thread, we'd like to invite you to share with us your web site finds, blogs and podcasts as well as your recent and upcoming local, regional and national workshops and presentations. Let this be a venue to showcase the great work you all do!

Here are two sites that I've found useful:

Go2Web20.net – The complete Web 2.0 directory is a visually engaging repository of links to web 2,0 applications and services. You can search by tag, date or name, subscribe via RSS and even access an annotated print–friendly version. When you want to think outside the box and note emerging trends, this is the place to visit: http://www.go2web20.net/

I love del.ico.us, (http://del.icio.us) a web–based social bookmarking site. No longer do I have to remember which computer I put those bookmarks on or which folder they are nested in. All my bookmarks are accessible anytime, anywhere right on the web. I can annotate them, make them public or private, tag them with multiple terms, search tags to see what others have found, share my bookmarks, and subscribe to tags or users. It's a great tool for collaboration and research and has lots of classroom potential.
